Dreams On Hold For My Startup
I've put everything on hold for my startup.
Every dream I had was placed on a shelf I couldn't even reach.
- The wedding celebration I owed my wife
- The village house I promised to my dad
- The family travels I hoped for my kids
- The dream house I desired for myself
- The life I promised my younger self
These were dreams I couldn't financially afford.
But then, there are the simpler ones:
- Strumming my electric guitar
- Writing my own thoughts
- Watching sports events
- Skiing down slopes
- Taking time off.
These were dreams I couldn't mentally afford.
Eight years have gone by, with those dreams still sitting on that shelf.
Waiting for me, just as I waited in my business, for:
- The next milestone
- The next deal
- The next hire.
But I've come to realize there's always a 'next'.
A never-ending cycle.
Now, it's time for me to break that cycle.
Time to stop waiting.
To start living alongside those shifting goals.
I'm now reclaiming each one of those dreams.
Dusting them off and bringing them to life.
One by one.
In eight years, I dream of an empty shelf.
Maybe, I'll even take it down entirely.
So I don't have to put anything up there ever again.
